Elwood Soccer Club’s Travel Program offers players a higher level of competition while maintaining the club’s strong sense of community. Designed for U9 through U19 boys and girls, this program emphasizes skill development, tactical understanding, and team play through structured training and league competition.
Our travel players represent Elwood across Long Island as part of the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL), competing against other area clubs in a fun, challenging, and growth-oriented environment.

Training Philosophy
Beginning in the 2025/26 season, all Travel Program teams will participate in a consistent, club-wide training curriculum.
Each team will receive two clinic-style training sessions per week led by professional trainers. These sessions focus on:
-
Technical development (ball control, passing, shooting)
-
Tactical awareness and decision-making
-
Physical fitness and coordination
-
Team cohesion and style of play
This approach ensures that every player—across all age groups—receives high-quality instruction and a unified developmental experience under the Elwood Soccer Foundation Curriculum.
Coaching Structure
While trainers lead weekday sessions, volunteer parent coaches continue to guide teams during games. This hybrid model strengthens the connection between families, players, and the broader Elwood soccer community, blending professional instruction with local engagement.
